We were founded in Calgary, AB in 2005, with a mission to share knowledge and expertise, developed through decades of leadership and innovation in this field.

In early 2014, High Engineering was acquired by Parsons Engineering Group, a 40 year veteran engineering and fabrication group, recognized as the leading fall protection engineers on the East coast of Canada. The combined company has extensive experience in fall protection, construction and fabrication across a broad range of industrial sectors.
In mid 2018, High Engineering was acquired by Kee Safety Group, a global leader in fall protection products and service, with presence in more than 40 countries and approximately 550 employees globally. With access to Kee Safety’s large selection of qualified products and High Engineering’s extensive engineering knowledge in fall protection, High Engineering has all the tools necessary to provide a turn key project service to keep workers safe from falls in every sector.

Our Principal Engineer, William Parsons, P.Eng., helped develop the fundamental techniques and principles required to analyze and design fall protection systems. He was an integral part of the team that developed all formulae used in the CSA Z259.16 standard for the Design of Active
Fall Protection Systems that became the basis for ANSI Z359.6 in the United States. These two documents are recognized as the only standards for engineering of fall protection systems, and are being adopted as national standards in countries around the world.
William Parsons is the Chair of the CSA Z259 Technical Committee of Fall Protection, holds leadership positions in the ANSI Z359 standards, and has developed close relationships with standards writers, product developers, manufacturers, regulators, and innovators from industry and academia all over the world. Through these connections, we are creating new standards and best practices in our industry, resulting in ground- breaking developments in fall protection engineering including:
- Three important patents that improve the performance of Fall Protection Systems
- Techniques for analysis of horizontal lifelines, clearances, and energy absorber testing
We currently hold Professional Engineering registration in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, and Ontario. We are able to quickly obtain registration in other Canadian jurisdictions as required. Through our partner companies we are able to provide engineering services in the United States.
